The service program is an integral, mandatory part of a Lake Catholic education. It provides our students with specific opportunities to use their gifts and talents as active, educated servant leaders living the Gospel in a rapidly changing world.

Requirements

All service for all grade levels must be completed through a non-profit organization (church, school, shelter, food pantry, etc.), and verified by a staff member with an e-mail address from that organization. (Service cannot be verified by a parent/guardian/relative unless they are an employee of the non-profit you are volunteering with). 

Service cannot be approved until the verification has been complete. MobileServe automatically sends the verification email to the supervisor. 

All hours are approved through MobileServe. 

Hours for each year must be completed during that school year, even if the max number of hours has been reached. (Students cannot complete 50 hours of service freshman year and then complete zero (0) hours in the remaining three years). 

Hours not submitted to MobileServe will not be counted.

• Freshman: Complete 10 hours of service, submitted and approved via MobileServe by May 1. Instructions on how to access MobileServe will be given at the start of the school year.
• Sophomores: Complete 15 hours of service, submitted and approved via MobileServe by May 1.
• Juniors: Complete 15 hours of service, submitted and approved via MobileServe by May 1.
• Seniors: Complete 10 hours of service, submitted and approved via MobileServe by May 1. 

Service Cord

The service cord to be worn at graduation is awarded to students who have completed a total of 80 hours of service approved via MobileServe by May 1st of senior year. Additional hours may be earned any time during the school year.

Documentation

All service hours are documented on the MobileServe app. The app will be downloaded in first-year student theology within the first few weeks of school and used for all four years. All reflection questions must be completed and submitted in order to be viewed for approval.
